Corporate Governance

"Timken is absolutely a square shooter. Anything which bears his name must be the best that can be made. His ethics are high and his fetish is precision."

Forbes magazine, November 15, 1924

The qualities used to describe H.H. Timken, as noted by Forbes magazine, are qualities woven into the fabric of The Timken Company from its very beginning. H.H. Timken and his brother, W. R. Timken, founded the company in 1899 along with their father, Henry, who invented the tapered roller bearing. All were dedicated to the highest standard of ethics and integrity and successfully applied these standards to the business. Today, our responsibilities to the investment community demand an even greater dedication to these qualities. And after more than 100 years in business, ethics and integrity are still fundamental qualities at Timken. We have longstanding policies and practices to ensure that our company continues to be managed with integrity.

The Standards of Business Ethics Policy is the foundation of the company's outstanding reputation for ethics, integrity and respect for the law. This policy contains the moral and ethical standards by which each associate, officer and director of the company and its subsidiaries is to conduct the business activities of The Timken Company.

Board of Directors General Policies and Procedures

The Board of Directors General Policies and Procedures provide the guidelines followed by the Board in its operation and while discharging its responsibility to oversee the management of the Company's business and affairs.
